Telecom's advisory service agreement was signed

With the initiative of the Minister of Economic Development Valdrin Lluka, on Sunday is signed an agreement between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Telecom of Kosovo.

The agreement deals with the provision of consultative services through advisors who will be selected for the purpose of providing advice on the restructuring of Telecom of Kosovo, which may create the path for its privatization.

Being in a difficult operating situation, the Board of Directors in May of last year issued a decision to open the restructuring phase of the company with the implementation of an investment plan.

"In cooperation with the Board of Directors, as the Minister responsible for Public Enterprises, I have requested from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to provide technical assistance (in the form of grants) to advisors who advise the ministry on restructuring and repositioning this In the request, I have emphasized the fact that the Government of Kosovo, based on its governance plan, foresees the privatization of this enterprise. Also, I made it clear that in front of everyone privatization decision, improvement of company performance as well as internships is a priority and will precede any other process, "said Minister Luke after signing the agreement between EBRD and Telekom.

Minister Lluka further thanked the EBRD that has responded positively to the request of the Government of Kosovo for accepting the assistance in terms of procurement of advisers to provide technical assistance in the restructuring phase as well as the offer of external consultants who provide their expertise in drafting a roadmap on privatization that will set the steps that the Government of Kosovo should follow in order to privatize Kosovo Telecom.
